Most everyone thinks that they actually eat wood, but they do not. But what they do is just as damaging to the home. They hollow out the wood of your home as they make tunnels. This puts the structural integrity of your home at risk. They are attracted to moist, rotten wood. If you suspect that you have water-damaged wood in your home, contact Clint Miller Exterminating and we can come to do a moisture check.
They are harmful to humans and animals if they are disturbed. They can take over a yard in no time if they are not controlled right away. Their nests look a lot like a sandhill, so if you see something that resembles this in your yard; call us. We have a couple of different treatment options for Fire ants, so contact our office today to find out more about our treatment plans.
The type of ant and where it is seen will determine the treatment plan for you. Most of the time, we prefer to treat inside and outside if you are seeing ants around the foundation of the home because we need to control them from both sides. If you are unsure of having chemicals sprayed inside your home, we have a low toxicity gel bait that can be used for inside treatment around counter tops and in cabinets. When we spray inside, an inside spray is primarily cracks and crevices. We do not spray all over your furniture or walls.
If you have a pesky ant invader, please contact our office and we will be happy to get a technician out there to identify the ant. If it is after hours and you would like to go ahead and send us an email with your information and a picture of the ant, please send it to [email protected] for faster identification.
